I am....

I am a wife, mother, daughter and friend. I am a sister, aunt, and cousin. I am a teacher, nurse, janitor, baby-sitter. I am a decorator, stamper, scrapbooker and reader. I am an employee. I am a singer and a dancer.

I wear so many masks in my day-to-day life, that I am sure there are many, many more that I could put on this list. Some of these things are much more important than the others and they really define who I am. But, there is also a secret list of "I ams". A list that can destroy all of the positive ones in one fail swoop.

I am insecure, overweight, and addicted to food. I am inadequate, unworthy and unsuccessful.

This list hides from the everyday, but it is buried layers deep within me. But this list ISN'T me. This is how Satan attacks and destroys.

What is your known list of I ams? What is your unknown list? I think it is important to list them out and look at them. By acknowledging that they are there, you can better prepare yourself for the daily battle with Satan. If you just pretend that you don't hear the voice, then when he attacks, you will not be able to fight back. I don't want to be identified by this list. I am not mine, I am HIS.
