Getting through a 5 day work week can sometimes seem like an undefeatable and exhausting task. We wish our lives away wishing for 5pm on Friday. Even Quinn has already started the Sunday night depression...you know...the relazation that work and school are the next day. It's like the weekend is never quite long enough.
In particular, Wednesdays can be really tough for me, especially if Tony is working. I start my day thinking about all the things I need to get done, but can't because I have Wednesday Night Bible Classes. Satan whispers in my ear a bit and says..."It's only Wednesday. You don't HAVE to go. Go home instead of going to Bible Class. You have so much to do at home." And this is where the struggle begins...
This week was no different...in fact, it was probably harder. It was my first day back to work for the week after being sick and I was still feeling icky. My house is a TOTAL wreck and all I could think about was taking a nap. Tony worked, so I knew I would have to pick the kids up from the Community Center and we have to head straight to church. I really wanted to detour to the house, but I knew I wouldn't make it to Bible Class if I walked into the house for even a second.
So, we went...and I am glad that I didn't let Satan tempt me into staying home.
The best thing about going to church and being around all my brothers and sisters is how revived I feel afterwards. It was the same when I was a kid and a teenager. I would dread going and then be so exhilerated afterwards. I get to fellowship with my friends, praise God and concentrate for an hour on something other than ME! (I know..it's hard to believe that I could actually concentrate for hour...hehehe.)
I am so thankful to be in a congregation that meets on Wednesday nights. I don't think I could make it without my 'Mid-Week-Pick-Me-Up'. So, the next time you are dreading Mid-Week Bible Class and don't want to go, just remember how good it feels to praise God and meet with your Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Because if you aren't there, YOU WILL BE MISSED!!
