Hopefully I have the Chili's baby back ribs tune stuck in your head...I've been singing it for the last day so I thought I would share it with you.
A recap of the last two and 1/2 weeks. Tony got home from California after a wonderful 13 day trip. Three days later, he started feeling nauseous and had bad cramps in his right side. He endured the pain for a couple of days and then went to our family doctor. Our doctor "threw" different stomach drugs at Tony...even though the symptoms totally pointed to gall bladder issues. A week of pain and frustration went by and the two prescribed drugs weren't working.
My parents and I talked Tony into going to the ER and having some tests run since our family doctor wasn't moving fast enough. The ER ultrasound and CT scan didn't show anything wrong with his gall bladder...ugh! They scheduled him for a nuclear scan that Wednesday, so it was more waiting and pain for Tony. Then, Thursday of last week, we got the test results...his gall bladder needed to come out. He met with the surgeon on Monday and had his gall bladder removed yesterday. He is now on the road to recovery and ready to feel much better.
Before the surgery, Tony and I were talking and I told him I didn't feel like he had even been "back" since his trip. I told him I wanted my baby back. He laughed and said he had tried to do things around the house for me, even though he didn't feel well...that's when I just sighed and said I didn't care about the house work. I wanted him back in the moment. He'd been in so much pain, he wasn't really in the moment with us.
Although the things we do for each other are important and very much appreciated, if you aren't present in the moment and present in your relationships, you aren't really there. I hope to have my baby back soon!

Oh, Poor Tony. Glad he is on the road to recovery. We need to get the fams together soon!
I hope your hubby is back to 100% in no time! And I must say I loved your blog title post!
Surgery-yuck! Poor guy! Tell him the Texas branch of the family is praying for a speedy recovery and sending him "get well love." And I hope things get back to "normal" in your household soon!
