A Herculean Effort

Tony and I, both, have always had a goal to complete a marathon. In fact, Tony trained for it this year and quickly found out his knees just cannot handle the impact from running. (He was pretty bummed!)

The Biggest Loser had the finalists run (or walk) a marathon during one of the last episodes this year. I guess the wheels started turning for Tony...cause a few days later...he asked if I would be willing to walk the OKC Memorial Marathon in 2010. Man..I don't know...26.2 miles of walking...IN ONE DAY NONE THE LESS! Really?

Well, drum roll please...Tony and I are going to do it! I know, I know, I can hardly believe I have committed to such a task. Maybe this will be what boosts me into finallylosing this weight...cause goodness knows, I cannot lug all of this around the entire 26.2 mile jaunt.

I began my training on Monday night and went for a walk. The kids and I went to a great park. The trail is winding and has tons of tree cover. It is so much better than walking around the neighborhood. I walked the entire loop which is a mile. I took me about 25 minutes, which considering my surgery was only 3 weeks ago, I think that is a pretty good start.

I hope you all will root Tony and I on during our training and the end goal in April 2010.

I will be rooting. What a great goal to set.

I feel horrible...I didn't know you had surgery 3 weeks ago. What kind of surgery? Maybe I missed a post or something. I am glad you made a quick recovery. Keep up the good spirits!
