Friday night, I kicked off the weekend with my Shabby Soul friends. We met at Earlywine Park and enjoyed some sno cones, sugar cookies (Thanks Nicole!) and great book discussions. I had hoped to have The Time Traveler's Wife done before we met, but I didn't make it. I was 100 pages from the end..ugh! More on that later though.
After book club, a few of us went to see The Ugly Truth. This movie got horrible reviews, but I think when you go to see a Romantic Comedy and expect the best movie ever, you are expecting too much. I went into this movie expecting some laughs and a few ooey-gooey romantic moments and that is what I got. But man, the moments that made me laugh..really, really made me laugh. I had tears from laughing so hard. It's funny, but I won't need to watch this one over and over.
After the movie, I came home and feverishly finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife. This book is Ah-Maze-Zing! I cannot wait to see the movie in a few weeks. There isn't a lot I can say about the book that wouldn't give it away though. It was a raw emotional love story!
I finished reading around 1am and when I woke up Saturday morning I felt like 'poo'! I drove out to get the kids from my parent's house and then came home and have pratically slept the entire weekend. I took a sick today and have slept half of today already. It's a good thing I have a patient family and a good job!
