My mom and I were talking this weekend and I made a comment about my blog...that's when she said...you know your blog has kind of gotten off course (okay, those weren't here exact words, so I am paraphrasing). That got me to thinking...I have totally become distracted from my original intent of this blog. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna write posts about books, movies, my family, my friends and everything else I do (that is sometimes only special to me)...but I think I need to give more focus back to becoming healthy, treating myself with respect and making better choices. I have been using so many other things to distract you guys...okay, okay...and myself...from the fact that I have fallen way, way off course.
So, I did a google search on how to avoid distractions. I found a list of 11 ways to stay focused. Although this list was intended for projects at work or home, I think it will be one I can implement with my task at hand.
1. Having well defined goals
2. Breaking things into bite sized chunks
3. Prioritising constantly
4. Tracking progress vigorously
5. Planning ahead without fail
6. Rewarding yourself when warranted
7. Having positive patterns in my routine
8. Removing distractions as best I can
9. Blocking out some time
10. Keeping the results clear in mind
11. Enlisting my family and friends for help
So, where I hope this doesn't end up boring you guys to tears, I am gonna take the next 11 days and blog about each one and how I am putting these steps to work in changing how my negative behaviors. Maybe, just maybe, I can make a permanent change for the better and even motivate one you guys at the same time.
