Tony and I made the decision to join the Financial Peace class at church a couple of weeks ago, but just joining the class doesn't mean we had fully committed to the idea. So, on Monday, we hit it hard and heavy and decided that going over our budget WAS NOT AN OPTION. Ugh! What were we thinking? I went to Branson for the weekend and Tony was in Houston, so we both spent quiet a bit of extra money. Meaning our budget for the next two weeks was already shot. So, now we are having to make the money that is left, fit into our needs. Talk about painful! But I have faith that we can figure it out.
One of the long term things I am doing is attempting find ALL the places where we can save money...but let me tell you...I refuse...adamantly refuse...to give up DVR or my hair lady. So, this week I have gotten new insurance quotes for our cars and home. OMG! Amazing how much money you can save by switching insurance companies. I know it has a lot to do with the new insurance company wanting our business, so why not take advantage of that! My cousin-in-law is an insurance agent and he is going to be able to save us about $500 a year...just on our cars. Wow! (Thank you Shane at Wakefield Insurance Solutions!!!) I am so excited and now trying to decide the best place to put that saved money. Do we put it in savings or put it towards bills???? Hmmmm....responsibility is tough.

It is so tough, but hang in there! You'll get the rhythm of it, and after a while, you'll be able to set aside some cash each month for these trips in advance, instead of having to scrape by afterwards. And that is awesome news about the insurance. Every bit helps, but there are definitely things I don't want to give up, so we make cuts elsewhere. OMG--to give up my DVR--the thought alone is horrifying, lol!
