30 Day Challenge, Day 12

WHATEVER TICKLES MY FANCY!!

Yay! Another day I where I get to pick the topic. There are several of these days during the 30 Day Challenge, so I am trying to pick topics that are not typical for me.

So, today's post is inspired by a comment I got on my 500th post where I asked for new ideas on what to blog about. My friend, Debbie D. (you can read more about Deb by clicking here) made the following comment/suggestion: "Well, I would LOVE to hear how you became a Christian. Or if that is a dull and boring story like mine as I was saved as a child, perhaps you could write about the most recent revelation you have had about how to be a better Christian or what you have learned recently about the art/science of Christianity??"

I think my becoming a Christian story is rather dull. I was young and at church camp when I decided to put on Christ as my Lord. Although this was a very important day in my life, I don't consider it the defining moment of my Christianity. My defining moment came at one of the darkest times in my life. In keeping some things sacred, I will not share the details of the exact moment, but I will tell you it not only plummeted me to the lowest of lows, but it took my marriage with it.

I truly believe that Christ is the only way I got out of it. Tony and I went to weekly counseling sessions and learned that without God in our home and in our marriage, we would never have a truly happy marriage. This is when I realized just how important Christ is in my life and my faith was fully solidified.

"For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
