Yesterday, I briefly met a woman that I allowed to get to "second base" without even getting her name first. I felt so violated....hehehe.
I'm sure you can guess that I went for my first mammogram. Was it horrible? No, but it wasn't comfortable.
I put on a beautiful cape (with no arms) and then walked across a hallway...yes, a hallway that other people were walking down. The room for the mammogram wasn't too far away, but believe me, I was a little afraid of a possible breeze blowing up my little fabric for coverage. That would've been interesting.
Once in the room, I was surprised to see a 6x6 picture window that overlooked Lake Hefner...with absolutely no window covering..."Dear Lord, let there be tinting that makes this window private."
After we went through my history, she informed me that since I have implants, I get to have even more images taken...Yay Me! Two per "girl" with the implant moved out of the image and two per "girl" with the implant in place....8 images in total.
I was handled, manipulated, moved and smashed for what felt like forever. I'm sure it was less, but since the minute she started taking the images, she basically shoved the "cape" over my shoulder and I stood there bare chested, making the time tick by.
It wasn't horribly painful, but I was a little sore when it was over.
But, more seriously, my mother is a breast cancer survivor and I cannot stress enough how vitally important it is that we girls get our "girls" checked yearly when we come of age. I don't particularly think a mammogram is the most thorough method of checking breast tissue for inconsistencies, but currently it is the most widely approved/insurance paying method...but I won't get started on that soap box. So, when your doctor says it's time for you to go....GO! Do it for yourself, your health and your family.

My "girls" are having sympathy pains for yours. I didn't know that girls that have implants have to take two pics, you learn something new every day!
You got to see Mammy!! Ha! When is your next visit to Pappy's?? Haha!! I love this cartoon. I was sore after my first Mammy too!! Not the most pleasant experience, but I agree, very important!!
OMG, that cartoon is hilarious. I'm sure that I will have to go and get my girls checked in the near future.
