Last night, I was finally able to get my wedding ring tattooed on...yep, I now have a permanent wedding ring. Tony got his wedding ring tattooed on when he started at the fire department...metal in fire get hot...hehe.
So have I gone completely crazy? Nah!
Since losing my weight, my ring no longer fits...it spins all day long and I usually take it off (then I am worried I'll leave it on my desk or sitting somewhere else).
Now before you tell me to get it sized, I have already checked out that route. The ring is as small as they can make it. It has channel set diamonds and if they make it any smaller the diamonds will fall out. So, no-go on sizing it down.
Also, don't tell me to go get a new one either...the one I would want would be way too expensive and we are "living like no other" so we can pay off debt and eventually "live like no other" later!
So the alternative was a $40 wedding ring tattoo....
AND I LOVE IT!!!
I got it done at Ink Addiction Tat2Z in Yukon. The owner is Jo Swigart and she did a great job. Tony and I both agreed, of all the tattoo shops we've been in (okay, we've only been in about 5, but of all the shops) we felt the most welcome here. Most shops made us feel like we were entering a world we weren't welcome in, but Jo was very welcoming and easy to talk to. I will definitely be going back to her for any future tattoos.
It only took about 20 minutes, but they were not painless minutes. Don't ever let anyone tell you that a tattoo doesn't hurt. Now, it isn't excruciating pain, but it does hurt...a lot. I am very, very happy with it and ready for it to be fully healed.
(Oh yeah...get a tattoo on your hand and you can't do dishes for 2 weeks! That's right ladies, I get a two week dishes reprieve!! Waa Hoo!!!)
This is her drawing on the tattoo with a marker...I was happy with the very first one she finally let me see...she didn't let me look at any of them until she was completely happy with what she had drawn.
The pain! The pain! hehehe
Isn't it pretty!! Till death do us part has nothin' on me! This thing will go to my grave with me. :D
