Let me see...

if I can draw a mental image for you. I've feverishly searched for the picture, but can't find it anywhere.

Imagine if you will...1984...it's Halloween and I am 10 years old.

What was popular in the early 80's??

Neon...

Madonna...

Punk rock....

So in honor of the fashion of the day...I had on high healed booties, black hose, a red sweater dress belted at the waist, an awesome pair of neon glasses and my hair teased to high heaven.

I WAS A PUNK ROCKER! At least that is how I started the day.

Throughout the day, many, many comments were made on my attire and the suggestion of "streetwalker" was mentioned.

So, now skip past my day at school and let's go to the party that was being held at church that evening.

I walk in the door...pride of my costume achievement glowing from my pores. When someone asks...

"Hey, Becky! What are you supposed to be?"

"I'm a HOOKER!"

Ten year old me didn't know this was a bad thing to be...especially at the church Halloween party. But my dad knew and I think he about fainted.

Man, I sure wish I could find the picture for you. Hopefully, I've managed to create a great mental picture instead.
