I have been a little MIA the last few days because I practically went offline. I took a last minute vacation day on Friday after being completely frustrated with my daughter's room. Yes, I am so pathetic, that I used a vacation day to clean out my child's room. But let me tell you....she is a boarder line hoarder and I could ignore it no more. I spent all day cleaning on Friday (and of course completely wore myself out). I still have a few things to finish, but I am very proud of how her room looks now. I am threatened her with severe punishment if it gets in that condition again...hehehe...I'm such a tough momma!
But I was not too tired to enjoy some of my favorite things...good friends, good food and books. Yep, it was time for the Shabby Souls to meet for October. This time we met at Ingrid's Kitchen (and if you haven't tried Ingrid's it is a must...their baked goods alone are worth the trek). We had a great group of 8 girls this time and the conversation was wonderful. I left with a new stack of books to read and a list of books to find and buy as well.

Saturday morning, Ashton and I got up at the crack of dawn (5:30am) and headed down to Bricktown for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The girls of JH decided we would support the event this year and be part of the 20,000 participants. It was crazy out there. Tony made me promise I wouldn't actually do the 5k walk, so I just went to show my support of the other girls. Ashton was gonna walk with them, but after seeing the throng of people, she chickened out and decided to stay with me on the sidelines. Our group came across the finish line in a little under an hour and a half. I was proud of them and we had a great time.
Saturday evening, the kids and I went to Shawnee to visit my parents and see my 2nd cousin perform in the Shawnee Little Theatre production of Annie. It was such a cute play. There had a cast of over 50 for this production. The SLT is a non-profit organization that really does a great job putting on shows using local talent. Both the kids agreed that we needed to do "stuff like that" more often.
So, after 2 days of going full steam, I spent almost all of Sunday sleeping. I took a short break from my sleeping to go to church Sunday morning and to drive Quinn to and from his youth group gathering.
It was a great weekend and I love tiring myself out for such fun things. It's when I tire myself out for something annoying that I am really bothered...hehehe. (Oh yeah, Tony has decided my new nickname should be Dizzy Diva. I am even more high maintenance than ever now..hehe.)
