The Art of Eating In by Cathy Erway

This book did not do it for me. Yes, there were some interesting topics in it, but it did nothing to hold my interest. In fact, I was about 100 pages from the end last night and rather than finish it, I skimmed the last few chapters and just read the epilogue. Now, don't get me wrong, it isn't a horrible book, but just not one for me. (I think I am becoming a little ADD in my old age.)

If this topic interests you, by all means give it a shot. (In fact, I really think my friend Debbie would enjoy this one.)

Rediscover the joy of home cooking through the eyes of one Brooklynite who swore off restaurants for two years. The story behind the scenes of the blog Not Eating Out in New York, The Art of Eating In chronicles Cathy Erway's journey through the underground of NYC eating, and her favorite recipes along the way. Two years, three apartments, countless food events and some strange restaurant-free “dates” later, she was able to turn eating in into something of an art, rather than mere survival method.
