Have you ever said something to your children (or even to someone else) and you end up finding that the advice is some YOU should be following as well and probably even more????
This happened to me last week while Quinn was staying at my parents and he texted to see how late he could stay up. I asked him how tired he was and suggested he go to bed between 11 and 11:30. He texted back and said ok, but that he thought he could easily stay up later. That's when I advised him..."Just because you can, doesn't mean you should".
A few days later, those words popped back into my head, because....
Just Because I Can....
....eat whatever I want right now and not gain weight....
....sleep late most mornings and get into work late....
....totally play on the computer all day long....
....Doesn't mean I should.
This is a short list, but I have to admit, these are the things that have been weighing heavily on my heart lately. I already have a post in process about my attitude with procrastination at work and how it ends up hurting no one but me....but that will be for a longer post later.
So, what is it that you can put in the middle of that sentence? Just because you can __________________________doesn't mean you should.

Great post! I've been pondering some things similar to this myself lately. I don't know if I'm in a rut or it's that 'summertime' state of mind, but I need to lock some things down and re-focus myself. Amen! :)
ooohhhh, good post. It's funny, as a mom, at times I give my kids advice but yet I should be turning that finger right around to myself sometimes too.
I can totally relate to this post...sometimes I just don't want to look in the mirror!! Great post!!
Such a wonderfully timely reminder for me. It's like you were reading my mind!! LOL! Thank you for posting!
