***This is a little gross, so if you are squeamish, you may want to avoid this post.
We all have a frenum...did you know that? Do you know what a frenum is? Well, I didn't until we looked it up this morning.
fre·num /ˈfrinəm/[free-nuhm]
noun, plural -na /-nə/
a fold of membrane that checks or restrains the motion of a part, as the fold on the underside of the tongue.
Quinn was born pretty much tongue tied. It wasn't severe, but enough that he can't (or couldn't) stick his tongue out past his lips.
Well, that is no longer the case, but the untying of his tongue, was not intentional. You see, Quinn plays the trumpet. Last night was 8th Grade Band night where the band got to play with the Southmoore High School band. While playing in the bleachers, an accident happened and his trumpet got bumped. Well, it shoved the mouth piece into his mouth and under his tongue.
EW.
Yep...you guessed it. The bump caused the trumpet to slice his frenum...ouch! It's actually pretty gross. The picture didn't come through clear enough, but I think you can get the idea.
Luckily, injuries in the mouth heal rather quickly. But until then, eating, drinking and talking is a bit painful for him.
I'm sure he will look back on this and laugh one day...especially when the first girl he kisses tells him he is a good kisser!!!!

Poor guy! I hope he's feeling better. Our internet was down for the past 5 days so I am a tad behind.
