Manic Monday

I've not blogged for a few days and this one is going to be short.  But I just had to tell you guys what happened today.

During my lunch, I met my mom at our "in-between spot" to get the kids back home.  Tony was off work, but he was helping his cousin cut down some trees.  So, during our drive home, I got a phone call from Tony saying there had been an accident.  Unfortunately, my hubby is quite the joker, so I immediately thought he was joking.  So, he put his cousin on the phone and he said, "Becky, we aren't f'ing playing around with you.  He's really hurt."

Tony's cousin lives out in the country, but near where my in-laws live.  So, Tony had already called his dad and he was on his to drive him to the hospital and I was gonna meet them there.  The most information I could was that a tree had fallen on Tony and split his head open.

"Split open" does not describe what I saw when Tony and his dad pulled up at the ER.  Let me just say that no one should ever have to see one of their loved ones covered in blood.  It was bad.  Luckily after a CT scan, we were reassured cause there was no concussion and no serious neck injuries.

We spent about 3 hours in the ER.  But when all was said and done, he walked out of there with 17 staples in his head and instructions to go home and rest.  I think it will be a long recovery, but I am so thankful he wasn't hurt any worse than he was.  It could have been really, really bad.

I have some gruesome pictures cause you know we had to document it, but I haven't decided if I am putting them on my blog or not.  I guess I'll determine that based on your comments...if you chose to comment.

I just ask that you all pray for his recovery to be quick and for the pain to subside.  All he can take is Tylenol since it was a head injury, so this could be a very long couple of days.
