I am gullible. There, I said it. Are you happy?
And I am most gullible to Tony. You would think by now...after 20 years...I would've learned that when my husband is "cooking up" something, I would know not to go along with it.
Our budget for gifts to each other this year was small. So, when Tony asked for his couple of overtime and holiday checks, I assumed he was buying something for the Jeep. A few weeks later, I learned that the extra money was to buy me a bigger, combined Christmas/Birthday present. Eeek! Who wouldn't be excited about that?
Tony slipped with several things...I caught him measuring the front door...he said it would be delivered on the 26th, so I wouldn't have anything to open...and so on and so forth.
I had my suspicions, but I didn't want to tell him what I thought he had gotten me...what if he took it back or cancelled the order. You see...I thought I was getting a dining room table. Little did I know...Tony had planned these "slips" and was leading me down the wrong track. You see a perfect example of GULLIBLE!
I had a small box under the tree to open on Christmas morning and thought he had put a picture of my gift (new table) in the box. Instead, when I opened the box, I was met with gorgeous diamond stud earrings! OMG! Can you say shocked?
I love my earrings and can't help but smile when I think of the effort that Tony went through to throw me off his tracks.
