You see, there is a guy (Ric) who loves a girl (Jeana) and wants to ask her to marry him. And I'm the "in" to help out the guy.
The plan: Friday night, February 15
Where: Bricktown...small bridge east of the theatre
When: 7:15'ish
So, what was my part in the plan? I was going to be there to capture the moment on film. What a better keepsake, than a picture of the proposal.
I wrangled in another friend to help (she has a better camera and is a great photographer). We arrived in Bricktown at 6:30 to stake out our hiding places. Ashton was with us, so we used her as the stand-in to get the best possible photographs. As 7 rolled around, we started to get excited. And anxious. Were we in the right place? Could we stay hidden? Would we get a good shot?
Then the text came...They were in the parking lot and would be at the bridge at any moment. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Where are they? I don't see them. Is that them? Nope. Them? Nope.
Then the panic. Tick, tock. The cold sweats. Tick, tock. The doubt. Tick, tock, tick, tock.
Then my phone rang. It was Ric. I didn't even say hello...I just said "we're at the wrong bridge aren't we....."
Ric had already proposed and thought maybe we were just hiding that well...but we weren't. So, he told us where they were and we set off to find them.
I was a little sad that we missed the "moment", but the more I thought I of it, the more I realized they were meant to have that personal moment together. We had Ric recreate the proposal and got a few cute pictures after.
Even the best laid plans can falter.
Congratulations my dear friends! This is only the beginning of many amazing memories!
