I have had an amazing week and a half away from my computer. I kept up with some social media through my phone, but the computer stayed dormant. So, this week, I am going to stray from my normal "blog schedule" and catch you guys up on my visit with Nicole and then our family trip to Branson.
So, where to start?
How about my visit to Ohio and the very first thing we did together...EAT! I wouldn't say that I am a foodie, but I really enjoy trying new and unique places. And in a family as picky as mine, I don't get to do that often. I would say Nicole is a foodie and Columbus is an amazing city for that. Where ever possible, Nicole and I split something, but I still feared that I would gain weight based on the list of places we were going to eat and my fear was realized. I gained 3 pounds. Ugh! But let me tell you, I would eat all of that wonderful food again!!! The list is long, so I will share my favorites!
The first place we went was an Ohio original, Knead! This is where we indulged in the Mother Clucker! Amazing! Knead uses all local foods and this sandwich was perfect! After Knead, we enjoyed another Ohio original (and one of Oprah's favorites), Jeni's Ice Cream. Yum! I wish I could've had every flavor.
Nicole fed me well at home too. She cooked in the evenings and I thoroughly enjoyed watching her in her element. She has even inspired me to start eating vegetables even though my family won't partake with me. Why should I miss out on the delicious flavors just because they won't?
Our two brunches were my absolute favorite meals though...North Star and Pistacia Vera.
Everything at North Star is local, organic and homemade. This was one of those moments where I wished my stomach was still normal sized and I could've continued to eat and eat and eat.
Pistacia Vera is a fantastic french bakery! I enjoyed a wonderful quiche and of course macaroons! I brought home a "Chocolate Bomb" that Tony and I enjoyed my first night home. And it was divine!
I kid you not, when I say that Nicole and I ate our way around Columbus! It was so much fun to eat at the places that Nicole has discovered. I can't wait to see where she takes me next time, so I better get busy on losing the weight that I gained, huh?
Tomorrow's post will be some of the neat places we visited! Columbus is a very historic city!

Welcome back to your computer. We missed you. It was neat to follow you on IG though. The food looks yummy and worth the 3 lbs I am sure.
You had macarons! Please tell me they were the pretty french ones and not the coconut ones my mom tried to tell me I asked for. It's #1 on my list of things to do when I'm 32.
Also, I should make a list of things to do when I'm 32. Glad you're back!
Fun post!! I am not a foodie either but I love trying new things, whereas my family does not. The food and company look great! I look forward to reading about the rest of your trip.
All this food looks delish! And 3 pounds? That's totally water weight! ;)
LOVE the recaps! Does it seem like you were here forever ago?
