Goals and objectives are a normal part of life. Some are formalized, some are just jotted down in the recesses of our brains...some are called plans, others are actual resolutions. Either way, I am one who likes to make plans, resolutions and goals. When I get to desired 'end result', it is very satisfying to mark it off my list.
So, I've been pondering what my 2009 Resolutions would be. Would they be task specific? Would it include the normals (organization and weight loss)? How would I want 2009 to go for me?
Then today I realized something...a New Year's Resolution should be about determining what things make me happy and will make me feel whole when they are completed. So...here is my list....
1. Read one book a month - I will try to not focus just on self help books, but I will also read for pleasure.
2. Clean and organize my scrapbook room - Being creative is "ME", it is who I am, when my room is a mess, I feel very disoriented. (I actually started the process this evening. Woo hoo!!)
3. Take a photography class - I love taking pictures of my kids and family, so I might as well learn how to do it the best that I can. (My inspiration comes from my dear friend at www.greygillfish.blogspot.com You have to check out her pictures, she definitely has the eye for photography.)
4. Write a book - Yes, you read that correctly, I'm gonna write a book. Back in my college days, I loved to write. I'm not saying that I am good at, but I did find joy in it. When I started this blog a few months back, I was amazed at how therapeutic writing was for me. So, I've decided to see how my skills can transfer from a blog to a book. Pray that my writing will glorify God and His plans for me.
5. Loose this weight once and for all - Sorry, I couldn't help but put it on the list.
I'll keep you updated on my progress. I'm sure more things will get added to the list as the year progresses.
Happy 2009! I can't wait to hear what YOUR resolutions are!

Those are great resolutions, and thank you for the sweet compliment. I hope to improve my photography skills this year as well.
I have also contemplated writing a book...a children's book. Who knows, maybe this will be the year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!
