Doing Laundry

Does laundry ever look like this in your home? In our home, this is the result of waiting too long to get it done and then letting it all pile up and not folding it as we go. We tease and say we need to have a "folding party" when it gets this bad.

When I first took this picture, I was gonna blog about Tony and how he does the laundry in our house. (I am blessed to have a husband that does so much around our home.) But the more I thought about this pile of clean clothes, I began to realize the importance of this picture.

This picture symbolizes my journey (and everyone else's personal journies too). Do you look at the path you are headed down and wonder how in the world you are gonna get it all done? Like...getting closer to God, loosing weight, conquering your to-do list, etc, etc, etc...whatever it is...you can't do it all at once. Just like we can't magically throw all this laundry into the air and have it fold itself and put itself away. Each piece must touched, folded, and put away in it's proper place.

As I learn to lean on Christ and learn who I truly am, I must touch each piece of me. It has to be inspected, folded and put away in it's proper place.

"You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally. I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself." 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (The Message)

I am so glad I'm not the only one who takes pictures of laundry.

It is funny that I almost posted last week about how grateful I am that Doug does all our laundry. Then I looked at our big pile on our chair (just like yours) and I got angry instead of posting about it. LOL! I hate laundry! As soon as you find a solution, please let me know!
