He Loves Me

I've just finished reading the book, He Loves Me - Learning to Live in the Father's Affection, by Wayne Jacobsen. I highly recommend that everyone read this book. The author is a former minister...He takes scripture about God's love for us and applies it to our daily lives. The main theme of the book is that no matter what we do, we cannot earn God's love, because we already have it.

Since Jesus went through everything you're going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you'll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want. 1 Peter 4:1-2 (The MSG)
