Marley and Me

I finished reading Marley and Me last night. Our family saw the movie at Christmas and we really enjoyed it. I was hesitant to read the book after seeing the movie though...but I talked myself into and I'm glad I did.

The story was really entertaining and since I'd seen the movie, it was easy to visualize some of the things that were actually happening to this family and their dog. When watching a movie or reading a story about a dog and it's life, you know what the inevitable end will be...I'm sad to say that didn't make the end of this book any easier on me. I was a blubbering mess. Quinn and I were both on the couch reading and he looked me, saw the tears and said...."You're at that part...aren't you?"...I just shook my head. I couldn't talk. The movie pretty much ended at this part, but the book didn't. The book continues on for two more chapters and there is a sense of healing that you don't get in the movie. You hear more from the John Grogan and how Marley really impacted their lives.

So, if you are trying to determine if you want to read the book or watch the movie....READ THE BOOK!!!
