Life Inside the "Thin" Cage

I finished reading Life Inside the "Thin" Cage by Constance Rhodes. It was a wonderful book and helped me to realize that as a person with an eating disorder, I AM NOT ALONE! Clinically diagnosed eating disorders, bulimia and anorexia, are easy to diagnose and treat, but those of us with low level eating disorders, sometimes get overlooked by the medical community at large. Although the book clearly looks more from the perspective of a thin person obsessed with dieting, I was able to use the tools from my own personal perspective.

Honestly, I believe every woman ought to read this book. It will challenge your relationship with your body image and how you truly view yourself.

Here is the last prayer from the book. It is my favorite!!

Dear God, thank you for helping me be willing to get this far. Please be with me each day as I consciously remind myself to accept myself the way you made me. I know in my heart that freedom is something I desire; help me hold to this truth as I walk forward out of the cage. Thank you. In Christ's name, Amen.
