The first item on the ways to stay focused list is to set well defined goals. I've always been good at setting goals, it's the obtaining them part that seems to allude me...especially when it comes to weight loss. I have successfully lost weight in the past and I've actually made it to my goal twice, so why has the last year been so difficult? Honestly, that is a question I still don't have the answer to, but hopefully I can find out why.
At work, when we set goals, they make us use the SMART method...specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time based. I'm gonna try to do the same thing with this goal as well....
My goal is to lose 90 pounds by May 13, 2010.
I picked this date because it will be our 15 year wedding anniversary. Fifteen years ago, in 1994, I joined weight watchers for the first time. I joined because Tony and I were going to get married (of course he hadn't proposed yet, but I knew) and I had a few college pounds to lose. I stayed focused on my goal and didn't look back. By our wedding, I had made it to my goal weight and attained lifetime membership with weight watchers. It's time to regain that same focus and meet my goal again!
