I've been thinking about the simple things lately. The little things that put a smile on face and warm my cockles. Some are silly and trite, but others are truly warming and spread the smile through my entire being. So, since it has been on my mind, I thought I would make a list of the simple things.....
...the way Sookie lays stretched out in the doorway when I get home from work, just begging me to pet her tummy,
...the wonderful comments left on my blog showing me that someone is really reading this junk,
...going to the little girls room after the janitor has just cleaned and getting to tinkle in the blue water and making it turn green (hehehe..told you some were silly),
...saying bedtime prayers with the kids,
...taking a nap at my parent's, all cuddled up on their couch,
...the smell of chex mix cooking in the winter time (my mouth waters just thinking of it),
...the way Tony and I start to fall asleep with him holding me, then me holding him and then us laying with our backs to each other (no joke, we do it like this EVERY night),
...cuddling up with Ashton on the couch,
...looking into Quinn's baby blues...I can still see the little baby in them,
...the crisp, clean smell of a fall day,
...the way Alli curls her body in a C when she gets excited (this is apparently a trait of the boxer),
...turning out all the lights in the house and having the only light be from the Christmas tree,
...the knock on the door for Trick-or-Treat night,
...the way the kids make a big deal out of Tony and I kissing and cuddling,
...seeing my mom's phone number pop up on my caller id when I am at work,
...seeing the first flowers poke out their little blooms in the spring
I know there are many, many more and I could make this post extend on forever, but I think it's important to stop from time to time and think about the simple things.

This was a sweet post and made my day!
I love this! It made me cry. Be so thankful, I come from the opposite side of some of your cherished things, like napping on your parents couch and seeing your mom's number on your phone. I think the green toilet water is my favorite! I have some quirky ones like that myself!
What a great post!! I may steal it too!! :)
Love this post & the person writing it.
