Becky's Buys - Dry Shampoo

Dry Shampoo
Can you believe our mother's had this wonderful product back in the 70's and we are just now finding out about it? I love how things come back around.

And let me tell you, I have been on a major quest to find a good dry shampoo...especially since I have black hair now. I've told you before, that I am lucky if I wash my hair more than twice a week. It may seem gross, but hey, I hate blow drying this much hair. It is just too time consuming. On the "off" days, I usually just pull my hair into a pony tail or I wear a cute little hat. But the pony tail usually looks limp and lifeless. Even if it is just sticking out from under my hat. Hence, the reason for my epic quest.

During my quest, I have tried two Oscar Blandi dry shampoos and one Tigi dry shampoo. The first Oscar Blandi left a white residue in my hair, and with black hair, I can't have that. The second Oscar Blandi was for dark hair, but it didn't really do anything for the absorption of oils in my hair, so those were both duds! The Tigi gave me wonderful volume and absorbed the oils really well, but then it also left a horrible white residue. So another dud! (On a side note...if you have light colored hair, I think I would recommend the Tigi one.)

My quest took a turn for success when a friend recommended I try Bumble and Bumble's dry shampoo. I went to their website last week and found that they had dry shampoo that could be ordered in five different colors!!! Waa Hoo!!! I got it in last night and I LOVE IT!! You can click on the picture and be directed to the Bumble and Bumble website.

It doesn't leave a white residue, although it is kinda messy since it is black. But it gives me fabulous volume and once it is dry, the mess goes away and I can style my hair like normal. It is kind of pricey, but I've always lived under the idea that beauty (or vanity...hehehe) is worth the price sometimes and you just have to decide if it is worth it to you.

That is awesome! I am the same way with my hair, it's so thick and such a pain that I only wash it a couple of times a week. I've tried a couple that left residue so I will definitely get some of of this. I look forward to more reviews on products!

I use the Tigi kind myself and I LOVE it! When I grew my hair out, I was 'training' it to wash every other day and this stuff was a lifesaver. It does leave the white residue, but I will just turn the blow dryer on low and kind of blow it out a little. But I will definitley buy this when mine is gone! No price is too high from the time you save from a daily blowout! HA!

I use Pssst Dry Shampoo--cheap, smells awesome, and doesn't leave gunk behind. But, with my light colored hair, I don't have the issue with "haze" that you can have with dark hair--wouldn't know how it would work for you. But I do love the stuff! I also don't wash my hair but 2-3 times per week--I have SO MUCH HAIR that it takes forever to dry and I just don't have that kind of time. Glad you found one that works for you!
