I Had a Birthday

I am one of the lucky souls and my birthday falls during the holidays (sarcasm).  Usually it bums me out to have my birthday during this time of year, but for some reason, it didn't do that to me this year.  I think it is because with a birthday during the holidays, I was able to spread out the celebrations to a couple of weeks instead of just one day.  In fact, I still have one more dinner set to celebrate with two girlfriends.

My first "celebration" was while Nicole was in town.  It was so wonderful to see her again, but I have to say, I have gotten spoiled to seeing her every month the last few months.  Now that weddings and holidays are over, she'll be coming back to OKC much less.  Boo!  But we have a plan for me to go there in a few months so maybe it won't be so hard.

We did some shopping and had lunch at a new tearoom here in Moore...Tealicious.  It was really fun and the food was delicious and special.  It was the perfect "kick-off" to my birthday.

On my actual birthday, Tony was supposed to be working, but he surprised me by taking the day off and making the day all about me.

We started with a wonderful breakfast at Syrup (The Breakfast Boutique).  It was such a neat place and the food was super yummy...but it will only be a special occasion place for us (it was a little expensive).

They gave me a bday pancake (above), but I also ordered sweet potato pancakes with marshmallow cream and pecans on top (below).  Man, oh man!  It was delicious!

After breakfast we did a little shopping at The Outlets and then at Penn Square Mall.  The reason for no makeup in the earlier photo is because I had a makeover scheduled at Sephora that afternoon and had a little pampering time just for myself.  It was wonderful.  And look at how gorgeous my make up looked!  (Just wish I could recreate it that well.)

We spent the evening with my parents, my aunt and uncle and my sister and her family.  Then on Sunday, I had a "girls day" with Ashton and Ben.  We went to see Les Mis and it was fantastic.  The singing was beautiful and the actors did such a good job with it.  Both of the kids enjoyed the show.  (Ben is Quinn's best friend and he wanted to see the movie, so we invited him along.)

It was the perfect wrap up to a fantastic 39th birthday.  (Oh what...I didn't mention that it was 39th?  Yes, I turned 39...only one more year in my thirties.  I am determined to make it a great year!)
