Book Talk Tuesday

So I totally have an author crush on Kate Morton.  I haven't read a book of hers yet that I didn't like.  And her latest book The Secret Keeper is no exception.

Like most of her books, it takes place in present time as well as the past.  There is always a mystery that needs to be solved and some deep, dark family secret to revealed.  This story takes place between 2011 and WWII.  But it starts in the 1960's when 16 year old Laurel is hiding in a tree house and sees her mom murder a man that has walked up to their house.  If that doesn't make you want to read the story then I'm not sure what will.

I loved the story and this thing kept me guessing the whole time.  In the middle of the book, I emailed my friend Crystal and told her what I thought was happening.  I just wanted to document it in case I was really right.  Then 50 pages later, I decided I was way off base and had no idea what I was talking about.  Then at the end, it turns out I was right...but man, it totally still side swiped me and had me shocked and surprised.

This is a page turner and a book I highly recommend.
