I am not a last minute kind of person...and 2 weeks planning time is very last minutes for me...but when you read below, you'll have to think about proud of me you are. I just made plans on the fly and it only hurt a bit.
So, Friday evening, I got an email from my boss that two of us on our team would be traveling to Colorado to close out Q1. One would need to be there Dec 28, 29 and 30. The other would need to go Jan 3, 4, and 5. Tony is on his four day the first week of Jan, so I volunteered to go on that portion of the trip.
The more I thought though, I didn't want to go alone. I HATE traveling alone, especially far from home. So, last night, I talked Tony into making this a business and pleasure trip and having him and the kids come along with me.
The kids have never been to Colorado, the hotel will be paid for on the nights that I would've been there for business anyways and my expenses will be covered on my Amex!
So, we will leave on Jan 1 and drive....yes, I said drive....to Westminster (Northern suburb of Denver). We'll get there late on Saturday so we can have all day Sunday to go sight seeing. I'll work during the day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and we'll play in the evenings.
I am very excited and can't wait to see what the kids think of the Rockie Mountains. Pray that we have safe travel and clear roads.
