A couple years ago, Quinn participated in the MEHC...we were thrilled when Ashton auditioned and got a spot in the choir too. The groups have been practicing since January and on Tuesday night they held their concert.
It is a huge honor to be a part of this choir. It includes a small number of 5th and 6th graders from each elementary school. At Ashton's school, there were ten that participated. With all of the schools combined, there were 210 kids. All of those sweet voices were truly awe inspiring.
They sang 8 songs ranging from one in Latin, a Brazilian folk song, an African lullaby, an America lumberjack song, and an Irish folk song.
There was a guest conductor, Allan Johnson, who has done several things with our schools over the past few years. You can tell that Allan truly enjoys working with these kids.
I've attached four videos....if you only want to watch one, I highly recommend that A-Zinga Za video and that you watch the whole thing. That was my favorite and you can tell the kids had a ton of fun with it. But I would love it if you would listen to them all. Their voices are all so great together.
I am married to my best friend and am the mom of two wonderful kids. I have had my ups and downs in regards to health, happiness and weight loss. This blog will tell you about all of those ups and downs and my opinion on the randomness that we call life.
