A Gift of Decorations

For my birthday and Christmas this past year, Tony had no idea what to get me and I had no idea what to ask for. One thing I knew though, was that I wanted to do some redecorating. So, we decided that would be my gift. (I was horrible and didn't get any before pictures, but I can share the final result.)

I started in the kid's bathroom. This is also the bathroom that our guests use. And I hated the decor that was in was Hawaiian themed and never looked good. It is hard to decorate a bathroom that pleases a teenage boy, a tweenage girl and of course ME. I ended up going with grey and turquoise and love how it turned out. I still have a few more "art" pieces that I need to make and put in there, but I am happy with the results.

Next was a photo collage in our living room. My inspiration came from a blog I stalk...Kristen Duke Photography. She ran a series last fall (and is running one now) called Decorating with Portraits. The post that inspired me for this set up was from Eighteen25 (another blog I stalk). You can click HERE and see the inspiration. Here is how I executed it....

Also in the living room was a huge "art" piece that I decided to make. Tony did the manual labor and Ashton and I did the creative part. I love how it turned out. There are things I would change if I could, but overall, I am happy with it.

I still want new throw pillows and lamps for the living room, but I am still searching for the perfect pieces.

The next room to tackle will be the dining room. Right now, I have a huge blank wall and I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I am open to suggestions....

I am married to my best friend and am the mom of two wonderful kids. I have had my ups and downs in regards to health, happiness and weight loss. This blog will tell you about all of those ups and downs and my opinion on the randomness that we call life.
