A Gift of Decorations

For my birthday and Christmas this past year, Tony had no idea what to get me and I had no idea what to ask for. One thing I knew though, was that I wanted to do some redecorating. So, we decided that would be my gift. (I was horrible and didn't get any before pictures, but I can share the final result.)

I started in the kid's bathroom. This is also the bathroom that our guests use. And I hated the decor that was in there...it was Hawaiian themed and never looked good. It is hard to decorate a bathroom that pleases a teenage boy, a tweenage girl and of course ME. I ended up going with grey and turquoise and love how it turned out. I still have a few more "art" pieces that I need to make and put in there, but I am happy with the results.

Next was a photo collage in our living room. My inspiration came from a blog I stalk...Kristen Duke Photography. She ran a series last fall (and is running one now) called Decorating with Portraits. The post that inspired me for this set up was from Eighteen25 (another blog I stalk). You can click HERE and see the inspiration. Here is how I executed it....

Also in the living room was a huge "art" piece that I decided to make. Tony did the manual labor and Ashton and I did the creative part. I love how it turned out. There are things I would change if I could, but overall, I am happy with it.

I still want new throw pillows and lamps for the living room, but I am still searching for the perfect pieces.

The next room to tackle will be the dining room. Right now, I have a huge blank wall and I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I am open to suggestions....
